The Question of a Legitimate Home Based Business

Different opportunities to start a home business are available, and it is quite possible that e-mails are arriving in your inbox several times per day asking you to join their business. How do you know which are legitimate and which are not?

When considering a home-based business, determine whether or not you work well under the direction of someone else who has already established their business, which will be the case if you are entering in as a franchise. Unless you are starting something completely new, you will have to follow the guidelines that have already been set in place. The best way to determine if a business venture if legitimate and right for you is to do some research and footwork. Start asking around about the business. If you know someone who has joined a particular home-based business in which you are interested, talk to him or her about the positives and negatives. Do not go into the business venture with your eyes closed.

Look at the advantages and disadvantages of business opportunities that come with everything you need to start. This is a very personal decision based on what works best for your personality as much as it is a financial decision. If you choose to invest in a business or franchise that has already established a workable concept, you are not starting from scratch trying to invent something new for consumers. This type of business venture will often bring in earnings at a faster rate than starting from scratch and you will often have support in the initial phases and throughout the lifetime of the business.

The potential disadvantages of joining a franchise is that out of ten corporations that offer to sell franchises and other business opportunities, nine of them fail in the first five years of being in operation. So when you are looking into this type of business venture, take notice as to how long they have been in service. The other side of this issue is that if you rule out all companies that have been in business for five years or more you could miss the opportunity of joining a business on the ground floor that has a great potential for profit.

If after careful research and looking at the financial risks and benefits you have decided that a franchise is what you are interested in, consider carefully the following questions:

* Is there a particular district in which you will have to work?
* Do you like the product line?
* Does the business have an established business record?
* Is there a name brand that is associated with this opportunity?
* Is training and support part of the business package or are you on your own once they receive your money?

Starting a home-based business is serious and you do not want to enter into a venture without thoroughly checking it out first.

Latest Evil Phishing Scam

We received a special email early this morning from the well-known Internet specialist and web marketer, Jeff Mulligan, who manages the entire CB Mall enterprise. Jeff was humble enough to "confess" that even with all of his knowledge and experience, he had recently been deceived by a very sophisticated phishing scam that arrived in his email inbox. Jeff was also thoughtful enough to provide us with all the details about this phishing scam, so that we could avoid not only this specific scam but also others that use similar tricks. He gave us permission to inform others about it.

I thought that this issue was important enough that I should devote a whole web page to it, so I created a web page that tells you how to obtain Jeff Mulligan's PDF file describing the exact details of this latest evil phishing scam. Please tell all of your friends and acquaintances about this scam before they become victims as well. Send them a link to the page below by email, or link to it in your blogs or on your websites. This is the link to the Phishing Scam Information page, and the exact URL address is:

http://www.HomeNetMonies.com/Phishing_Scam.html

The scammers are getting more and more sophisticated, using very intelligent cryptographers (computer code specialists), and according to press reports are often joining together into cyber rings to loot our money and make us victims of identity theft. Being informed and forewarned is an essential part of our defense. Good luck to all of us!

(Even though Jeff Mulligan was only getting out this urgent information and was not trying to sell anything, if you want to see an example of one his sites you can go to CB Mall.

Questions to Ask Before Starting a Home Business

Most beginning entrepreneurs realize that when starting a home business venture you will need to have another form of income available for some time. It can take a year or more to get a business up and running. It will take some serious motivation and work to go to a job each day and then run your business at night, but it can be well worth it in the long run. You also have to consider the investment of money that you are willing to put into developing the business. Not all home-based businesses are costly to start. First you will need to figure out what your strong suits are and your fields of interest. Many of the more inexpensive businesses can be carried out online where it is just a matter of a small investment in hosting and domain fees. Other businesses that are offering services or products can cost more to start. You will have to find the right balance between what you can provide and what people need. Ask yourself the following questions when trying to get ideas or narrow down your many creative ideas to the most realistic and profitable:

* Who will your customers be?
* What will they get from what you have to offer?
* Will they use what you offer multiple times or be repeat customers?
* Who are your competitors and what are they charging?
* What do you need to charge but still remain competitive?

You will need to know about your competition in detail. You will then be able to carve out or develop a niche market for yourself. If your selected market is over-saturated, it will be much more difficult to get much business or profit. You have to find a market that is popular, interesting to you, needed, and relatively easy to do. An effective moneymaker is to get affiliate websites up and running where your major task is to write or have written articles with good content (and high keyword density). You can also build your business from scratch, buy into a franchise, or buy an Internet business outright that is already established. Starting from scratch will offer you the cheapest investment but take many months if not years to establish. Buying into a franchise or already established business will cost more in the beginning but will generate an immediate income.

Once you have finally decided what kind of business you want and how much it will cost to open, the real work begins. It takes more than an idea to make money. You will have to be able to dedicate time and effort in promoting what you offer. This may mean long days or hiring others to do the work you do not have time for. You will have to get a structured routine in place so you can best accomplish your goals. Most people who start their own business no matter how small are looking to not work for someone else and are willing to push to succeed. Are you?

Payment Alternatives for your Online Business

Every good businessperson knows that one of the best ways to boost traffic and sales of their product is to allow for multiple payment options. By offering many different methods of payment, you are enabling everyone to purchase the same goods. There are many fashions of payment these days that can accommodate just about everyone.

Anyone who limits the acceptable payment methods to a mere few can easily be losing business and in turn losing money. As word of mouth on the net is a very fast river, that mentality of limited payment options can easily mar your success online. The bottom line is that you must allow for convenient ways for your customers to pay for the product, or you will loose out on business. The method of paying by credit card is by far the most popular payment method going right now, with over 90% of all sales coming this way. It is clearly and by far the most used method of payment, and a company would be ill-advised to eliminate that mode of payment from their options. It is not a difficult chore to set up your site to accept credit card payments; actually it is much easier than you think. There is a new contender in the payment option ring today--this payment method is the Pay Pal account.

This handy account has a completely revamped system that has eliminated all the quirks and bugs of its previous version, and is now very simple to use. This great tool is very safe for the transfer of funds to you, so there is minimal worry by the client. It also has a very good tracking system in place to protect you as well as the clients themselves. Again this is not the only contender in the ring, as the debit card seems to be gaining momentum. It is said that this will be the vehicle of fund transfer for the future; clearly it is here to stay. It would not be advisable for any business owner to exclude these payment methods from their list of options. Toll free numbers and order forms still find their way into this list of payment options, as they have been reliable in the past. This is what is known as an offline transaction.

When it comes down to it, the idea of business is not to merely get by but to succeed. If you limit yourself you are they opening the door for the competition to succeed and in turn shut you down. After all, a sale is still and always will be a sale.

Making Money Online with Google AdSense

These days an online business has many useful tools in the fight to stay competitive on the web. One of these powerful tools is the popular Google search engine. Google clearly has what it takes to make your web business a success. The 90 million visitors each and every month that use Google testify to this fact. Google.com is probably the largest search engine on the web today, and they have tools employed to ensure this and they have tools to ensure that you can succeed as well.

The exact, detailed account of how Google operates seems to be a proprietary secret, but search engine experts have a general idea of how it works. Google takes the first few lines of text and incorporates that into the search result when someone punches in your keyword. This should give you an idea of how you develop page rank and popularity. There are traffic monitors available to you when you use the Google service, and these can inform you as to when and how you need to adjust your keyword usage to find more traffic. When dealing with Google, it is most important for you to write the first paragraph of your page so that it has the biggest impact. This material is what is going to be seen on the search result by viewers, and thus you need to ensure that what they see here will be--impact!--which will prompt them to investigate your site. The more views you have to your site, the higher the traffic volume, and the more volume, the higher the page ranking and popularity.

A good rule of thumb is have at least 8% of the words in the text be keywords, with about 300 words being used as the impact paragraph. If this is what is going to be seen first, you have to make it count. Many of the search engines deploy software programs on the web that gather information from any site they find. These are known as spiders, and they constantly view sites and record content for their indexing purposes. You never know, however, when they will by surfing your site. It is not always the case that they will index your entire site on one trip to it, so you need to ensure that you optimize your pages. They will always start from the top of the page; this is why it is best to have the most impact near the top of the site. The best way to ensure that spiders crawl over your entire site is to place your site on Google Sitemaps. Instant updating on site indexing is one of the great perks that comes with Google Sitemaps.

The files saved are XML files; this is like having your very own direct link to Google--like a data cable. Basically Google AdSense involves third party advertisements sitting on the pages of your web site. Every time someone clicks on the ad on your webpage (and they leave your webpage) you get paid for the AdSense transfer. Obviously this will require a rather large traffic volume to make significant money, so do not neglect the above basics of optimizing for Google. Do not try to trick Google with anything like "keyword stuffing." The people at Google are very smart and they can penalize your site for this sort of behavior. Just keep these basic rules in mind, and create a site that is friendly for human users like you and me, and you will be on your way.

SPECIAL NOTE to our readers: In case you have not seen it yet, Microsoft has recently released their Beta 2 version of their AntiSpyware software that is FREE to valid Windows operators. It has been renamed Windows Defender, and is available for free, instant download at the Windows Defender page. We have already installed it with no trouble, and it found one spyware file that our other spyware programs had not picked up. It is hard to imagine a downside to this Microsoft software, so at least post a reminder for yourself to check it out soon if you cannot decide now.

How to Advertise a Home Business with Google Adwords

The object of successful advertising is to find a method of conveying your information, to as many people as possible, while keeping the cost on the advertising low from the start. This is the easiest way to generate traffic and retain your profits. Google Adwords is a great method of getting both of these objectives done and making your site successful. It is critical to attempt to maintain a low click-through cost when trying to target the appropriate customers.

It is no secret that pay per click can really make your business swell with traffic and customers. By placing the highest bid on a keyword (or keywords) you can get great page ranking when someone types your keyword into their browser for a search. If you have read anything about Google Adwords you will know that it is not really a pay-per-click search engine, but a very powerful Google tool that can be used as an advertising template. It is said that the largest Internet-based network for marketing is Google. It is a global industry and is an excellent way to get exposure on the Internet. If you are ever interested in Google Adwords you can find it on just about every page that Google showcases. Their ad can be found in a little rectangle by the organic search results that are free.

The basic premise of the Google Adwords arena is quite simple. The member creates their own advertisement, and then has to bid on a keyword. This key word will then trigger the next step of the process. This next step is where the appearance of the ad can be showcased 'to the viewers online. A member's site listing consists of approximately 25 words or characters--this will include spaces so be mindful. It will also allow for a descriptive segment of up to 70 words or characters (& again spaces are included in the total so you must watch what you are using as description). The great thing about this feature is that your site will be posted within just a few minutes of submitting it to Google. It could even become one of the sites that are sponsored, where they will sit on the right hand column of the search engine pages.

Google’s Adwords runs a little differently than the standard pay per click programs. It is not entirely based on the bid you place on the keyword. It has other elements factored into the equation, such as the click through rate multiplied by the cost per click. This in turn dictates what your page ranking will be in the end of the ratio. You will need a steady flow of traffic to your site prior to this method to be effective, so it is best to first get a good game plan in motion.

Free Home Based Business

Most traditional businesses can cost thousands of dollars to start. If you are looking for a home business that is inexpensive and/or free to start then try using a Web based business. There are several free tools available to help you create a high content design with a specific focus that can be a great marketing asset. If you do not want to have to invest in a product then affiliate selling may be the best option for you. Once you have your web site complete and have high volumes of traffic using your key words and SEO (search engine optimization), then you are ready to find a merchant that will affiliate with you. The affiliate promotes a merchant's site with a link on his or her own web page. The merchant’s products and services are promoted through the link. When a customer clicks on a link and makes a purchase the merchant gives the affiliate a commission. Because that customer found the link from the affiliate, the affiliate is being paid essentially as a type of advertising agent.

The merchant and the affiliate will agree prior to the link being posted what the actual commission will be for a particular sale. Usually the merchant has already set the commission amount, and often the commission is a substantial percentage. The affiliate needs to make sure that the product and services he or she is promoting are related to the website of the affiliate. This is because you want to have a targeted audience to be able to promote these products and services effectively. An affiliate who tries to sell a child's doll on a spyware website will probably not be successful. If an affiliate has several types of businesses to promote they need to have their own sites independent of each other. This will keep things organized and will attract only the visitors who will generate sales. Make sure that all the pages you have are themed and easy to find on the popular search engines. You want to make sure that you are attracting potential buyers who are specifically looking for what your merchant or merchants offer.

Once you have figured out if the product a program offers is relevant to what your site contains, choose a merchant web site with high ranks on keyword searches. The higher the ranking on a specific search engine the higher the traffic that will be generated. This will also mean that the product is popular, which is what you are looking for. You have found a merchant site with which you can build a profitable affiliate relationship. Now it is time to contact the affiliate manager. This person will work with you to establish an account with said company. It is their job to be helpful and effective as well as respond back to you quickly. The affiliate manager should also be willing to go that extra step to make sure you have long-term success.

The best method of promoting your site to someone else is to speak to your customers and visitors, as they are your friends. They will feel comfortable and in turn will promote and advocate your sites and business to others. An effective way to generate cash flow is to sell the products of other merchants within an affiliate program. The more products of other people you sell the more in turn you will make. The first successful website is always the most difficult. Once you have figured it out, the next success wiil be quicker and easier.

Best Home Based Business Ideas

Do you want to start your own business? Want to know what the hottest markets are? Well here they are--the best business ideas of 2006. These are what is hot right now and a great investment opportunity.

* Tea: This is one the hottest trends out there. Teas are offered in organic brands, mixes, and in individual bags. Advertising the health benefits alone will drive business your way.
* Online Specialty Foods: Many people are simply not interested in burgers and hotdogs anymore. They want specialty dishes and recipes for which they do not have to leave their homes.
* Do-it-Yourself Meal Preparation: This is the new way to get all your meals done for the month. Consumers pay to learn how to make a month worth of meals that are healthy and that they can freeze. This saves people large amounts of preparation time each night and makes dining easy.
* One-Product Restaurants: This capitalizes on one specific type of food and all you can do with it. It may sound far-fetched but makes many a lot of money.
* Chocolate Cafes: Almost everyone loves chocolate. What more needs to be said?
* Shredding: In the age of identity theft it is very good business to have a shredding company. Not only does this promote safety but can help the environment.
* ID Theft Prevention & Recovery: The recent rise in identity theft can bring many business opportunities. Providing safety for a fee is the way to go in this market.
* Hosted Security Provider: Get paid to keep the web sites of other people free from hackers, spyware, Trojans, worms, and viruses. Many do not have the time to do it themselves so you can do it for them.
* Data Backup: Help others to back up all their data so they can retrieve it later if need be.
* Surveillance Camera: A hot item these days to be selling. With all the crazy people out there today every business can use one.
* Mobil Ad-Ons: This is one of the biggest of the big markets. Providing wireless users with toys for their cell phones can be a lucrative enterprise.
* Aftermarket Accessories: This gives consumers new and fun items to spruce up their cell phones, iPods, and any other gadgets they have.
* Home Staging: For a fee you can showcase a property to enhance its perceived value or to make it more attractive to buyers so it sells more quickly.
* Senior Retrofitting: This capitalizes on the idea that older people will want to have their home remodeled to fit their needs instead of selling.

Easy Web Store / E-Store

Much more than an attractive web site is needed to competitively sell products online. The whole e-store marketing arena involves a challenging number of details. A company must be able to set up and run a strategy or marketing campaign, ensure customers get to the site in the first place, make sure that the products can be sold, and tend to all the small details that involve returns, inventory, and the fulfillment of orders. This is not an easy task, especially if you are doing this all by yourself. It is always helpful if you have a partner in this endeavor. This will ensure that you do not become overwhelmed with things that must be done and become exhausted.

You have many options when establishing or developing an e-store. You can go to a place like eBay, but another option is NetSuite. With this service you can rest assured that your e-store can handle all kinds of products, will have a vast and expansive catalog, and can deal with the heavy traffic it can generate. This is also a great option for companies that are anticipating return customers. You can deal with your online transactions and your offline transactions smoothly and efficiently, and get to the data or profiling that you need in a snap. With this data you can ensure that you will be on top of the field when it comes to spotting new and improved marketing strategies and sales opportunities. This will also keep you close to the customers that spend the most in your business, which will keep profits up.

Having a very convenient check out service and shopping cart icon allows for easy control of what is being ordered and placed in purchase lists more often. This will in turn allow for better planning and for keeping this product readily stocked for future sales. When it comes to the sales aspect of the whole e-store, this program allows for multiple payment methods. By keeping the options for payment wide open, your chances are much greater for a sale than if you have only a couple of options that may not fit the customer's preferences. Using Netsuite is a good way to generate foreign sales, as it takes care of the currency conversion, and the different payment options are available for customers abroad as well.

NetSuite allows for immediate and frequent updating and refreshing to keep your catalog as current as possible for your customers. This will also enable you to keep sales at higher levels rather than the customer going elsewhere for the same product. This in all is a great tool to keep you in the upper e-store rankings and ensure profit for years to come.

Good Shopping Cart Scripts

If you are relatively new to the world of online business, you may be wondering what a shopping cart script is. Scripts are essentially programs that track what a consumer chooses to buy from your online store. The scripts will track the choices of a consumer all the way through to the checkout process. Often online consumers think that the shopping cart is a neat little icon that holds all their purchases until they are ready to checkout, but this is not the case. The shopping cart icon is used as the first part of the financial transaction. Then a gateway will send the information to the area where the customer will pay for the items that they have chosen. This process is completed through a secure connection.

The payment gateway will then send the requests (which have been processed thus far along with various other transfers) throughout the financial networks as necessary. This includes the Internet merchant account that your bank has with the online store. When this is completed, the gateway will then send confirmation or denial to the shopping cart software. How do you know which shopping cart package is appropriate for your business? There are literally hundreds of packages to choose from. Searching through them all can be time consuming as well as confusing, which may make it even more difficult to determine what is best for your online business.

Free or Premium Shopping Carts: Before you begin to examine what is available make sure you have a clear idea of what it is you want the shopping cart to accomplish. Look at your online business and the products you are offering. If you are beginning, you may not need all the fancy extras that come with a high-end shopping cart package. If you are in the early stages of your business, you may want to consider a lower end package. However, remember that nothing is ever truly free. Always read the fine print and acknowledgments before you decide on a particular shopping cart script.

Free e-Commerce Solutions: Paypal is a great e-commerce solution. The services that Paypal offers have become quite popular among Internet businesses. Paypal integrates the necessary shopping cart functions with the payment gateways and includes the merchant account. This is very convenient. The drawback is that your consumers are required to use Paypal and become Paypal account holders. This is not difficult because when they purchase your product they will automatically be taken to a page that will have them set up their Paypal account. The only cost to you is a small percentage that is taken out of each transaction and you pay no monthly fees for this service.

Your Home Business & the IRS

We thought it fitting to post on this topic today, on the eve of the income tax due date, even though most of you are certainly so organized that you have already mailed in your 2005 package to the IRS. But just by way of reminder, here are some thoughts to consider for filing for tax year 2006.

If you have not yet organized your office well enough, now is a great time to start. Keep all of your records and documents in order to be able to file easier at the end of the year. Home business owners have their own set of allowable deductions that differ from other businesses. You have a chance to save much money by knowing how to take advantage of your home business situation.

Know your deductions. There are several deductibles to which the home-based business owner is entitled. Automobile or vehicle deductions can help with mileage, gas, insurance, or other related expenses. You can write off your business cards and stationary, plus any business meals and entertainment. All business traveling expenses, education, and even the interest on your business credit card can be counted in your favor. If you use a computer strictly for your business, the Internet service costs and expenses related to your web sites could be deducted as well. The cost for office furniture, supplies, your phone and other communication devices related to your home business can be deducted. Any postage or cost for delivery of goods is also considered a business expense. The home-based business owner can also get deductions for rent and utilities that keep the business running. Deductions that you will want to take on your 1040 form are:

* Half of your self-employment tax amount, which gives you a huge savings.
* As much as 100% of your medical insurance costs for you and your family.

If you make more than $600 per year in self-employment income you must file your taxes for this. You may qualify for the C-EZ form if you have had a bad year or just got started. Your total business expenses will have to be less than $5000 for that year; you have no inventory, or have to file a 4562 form (depreciation and amortization form). Make sure first and foremost that your expenses are less than $5000 and that you have taken all the deductions to which you are entitled.

Deciding who will be doing your taxes is no small matter. You need to decide if you plan to do them yourself or if you want someone else to do them for you. Using a tax professional has several advantages. Tax professionals can save you much time and unnecessary frustration. They can spot deductions you might miss or of which you might not be aware. Hiring a tax professional also saves you from being responsible for any errors that were made in the preparation, which could end up saving you thousands. No matter how you decide to prepare your taxes be sure to claim all possible deductions to save you in the long run. Businesses have been given tax breaks for a reason and you should make sure you know which you qualify for and how to save by using them legitimately and legally.

Lastly, remember this post is only a reminder of possibilities for readers. For detailed and official information, please visit the IRS website or speak with your tax professional. Have a worry-free April 15th!

Organizing your Home Business

What is the best way to organize a home-based business? Some home biz owners have set up a totally separate room in the home that keeps business away from the rest of the family life, but that arrangement is not as popular as it once was. Many families integrate their home business with their family life and do quite well with this type of arrangement.

One of the first things to consider is how you like to operate. You want your business area to be set up in a style that is comfortable for you. If you enjoy looking out the window while you are working and you are very productive this way, setting up your business space in a way that makes you look at a wall will not encourage you to work. In fact, you will more than likely find reasons why you cannot work. Do you like plants and artwork? Set this up in your space. It is important to make your business space reflect your personal style. This will make you want to sit at your desk and work because you are comfortable there as opposed to dreading going to your work area.

Make your workstation the base of the work that needs to be accomplished but do not limit yourself exclusively to that spot. You should also be able to leave and sit in your favorite chair or other places in the house to accomplish your work. However, do not spread important documents all over your house. Dedicate an area where those items will be kept. You do not want to feel like your business is taking over your life and that everywhere you look you see bits and pieces of it scattered throughout your home.

If you have a family with small children at home it will be important to child-proof your office space and make it look unattractive for children so that they will not want to visit too often, "borrow" office supplies, and color pretty pictures on your financial papers.

Consider purchasing a laptop and cell phone, if you have not already, so that you are not always tied to your desk. Sometimes it is nice to go to a park and sit in the fresh air while you are getting work done.

Decide exactly how many hours you are going to work during a day or how many hours need to be dedicated to a particular project. It is very easy when you are working from home simply to work all day and into the night because your office is so accessible. You need to be able to set boundaries as to when you will and will not work. Take breaks, step away from your work, and go to lunch even if it is in another part of your house or in your backyard.

The Future of E-mail Marketing

Even some of the craftiest marketers, including the typically hated spammer, will admit that Spam is almost dead. It is being taken over by the use of e-mail marketing. Contrary to popular opinion, it seems that Spam is on the decline. The rate of Spam's decline is approximately 13% per year. Why? Because knowledgeable marketers now see that e-mail is the marketing choice for the pros. It is predicted that by the year 2010 Spam will in fact be a thing of the past. It is also interesting to note that the spending of the market in this fashion will grow from $885 million to $1.1 billion dollars in the same time as well.

The bulk of e-mailing for businesses in the year 2010 is forecasted to be of the transactional, acquisitioned, and retention methods. It is clear to see why Spam is diminishing at such a rapid rate: the use of e-mail filtering is getting stronger almost monthly. The amount of Spam that the everyday normal user will see will be cut in half from 2005 to 2010. This will set the pace for e-mail marketing to take over. With new technology in place, it is easy for someone to recognize the difference between Spam and an actual e-mail from a company that is doing follow up for business purposes.

Consumers report that people are staying clear from e-mail servers that do not offer top notch Spam filters. This is not to say that there is not a plethora of servers available to the open market. The reason for the big concern right now is the cost of incorrectly blocked e-mails. The cost of this problem is at approximately $107 million dollars right now; it is expected to fall to approximately $88 million by 2010. In turn this will make for a much easier time to reach out to the consumer, by way of e-mail marketing, once Spam is truly eradicated. This vision of a very organized arena for e-mail marketing has business owners in hoots and hollers. They truly know the potential for this wonderful and inexpensive medium.

The improvement of practices in list management will be stronger, and the ISP will have a stranglehold on Spam. With all this technology, and the will to make the marketplace a safer business realm, it is clear that e-mail marketing can easily be allowed into the fold as one of the most productive marketing and business tools for the future. For now we still have to deal with all this junk called Spam.

A Free Tool for Website Promotion

If you are searching for an inexpensive (think free) way to promote your website and your business, and thus increase traffic and sales, consider promoting your website with keyword articles.

By promoting your website with keyword articles, you can get the link, or address, to your website circulating the Internet very quicklyin places where the content is relevant to your website! The process is simple. Perform a search for sites that accept articles for free and make sure these sites will offer a live link back to your website. Select the sites that accept articles that will be related to your own website. A good place to start is FreeSticky (www.freesticky.com), which offers a chance to submit articles, use their articles as content for your website, and advertise with them. Note, however, that you will find many other sites that accept articles. Browse through them and find the ones which accept articles that best relate to the content of your website.

The next step is to get started composing your articles. Make sure they are rich with keywords that are relevant to not only the topic, but your website as well. Do not worry about writing lots of articles at first. You can write one article and submit the same one to several different sites that accept articles. Once you get the hang of it, you can write more articles and branch out with different--yet pertinent--topics. Remember, you can send your articles to various different websites, thus making use of each of your articles more than once. If you are really pressed for time or find writing to be challenging, you can also pay for writers to compose original keyword articles for you.

Promoting your website with keyword articles is inexpensive, quick and easy, especially if you enjoy writing. Everyone needs content for their websites, and many people use free content articles just for that purpose. Check into sites that accept articles about topics relevant to your website, write your articles, submit them, and wait for the traffic and sales of your website to increase.

How to Advertise Your Work At Home Business

The business world is changing, and we are seeing the rapid rise of people who are wanting to work at home. Some companies are looking to make their employees subcontractors because they want to pay less benefits. The economy and natural disasters have affected others. As a result, more and more people are looking to start a home business of their own.

There probably never has been a greater opportunity to start a home business opportunity than now. With the internet giving access to the world, the possibilities are nearly endless. A brick-and-mortar storefront is no longer needed, unless you are dealingwith a large quantity of product. And because the business is in your home, thousands of dollars can be saved each year.

Every business will provide one of two different things to the potential customer. It will provide either a product or a service. But either one must have advertising in order for the customer to know about it. Your work at home business opportunity will succeed or fail based on this one factor. This article will seek to provide some quick ideas about how to advertise your business by using the internet.

Google Adwords

This is probably one of your best promotional tools for every dollar that is spent. This will require some study in selecting the right keywords to use in the Google program. One option is cost-per-click. Every time someone clicks on your ad, you pay a fewcentsthe exact amount is predetermined by you. Although effective, it will take a lot of watching and practice to master the method.

Submit To Search Engines

Various websites will submit your website information, with your keywords, to multiple search engines. Some sites will submit your information to over 75 search engines for free. For a rather small fee, this number can be multiplied many times. These sites will get the word out to the most popular engines, including Google and Yahoo. A number of search engines will take more than three weeks to list your site.

Create A Newsletter

This method will allow you to "get your list" of potential customers. Before you send out any illegal spam, however, it is important to get their approval for you to send them something. This is one way to be able to email your customers weekly. In most cases, you can do it for free.

Write Free Articles

Write an article on your niche subject (the theme of your web page), and submit it to websites that distribute free web content. If written well, these will be picked up by other marketers and displayed on their site. Of course, in these articles you require that your name and website address must remain attached at the bottom. This is free advertising, and it is possible to be posted around the internet.

If you look around the internet, there are many other ways to get the word out about your business. Add some new ones regularly and see what gets the best results.

Online Income For Stay at Home Moms

They want to establish some type of financial improvement while still being able to watch over their children. Making money online can be a great idea for stay at home moms. It provides a flexible schedule as well as the benefit of little commuting. Some examples of great ways to make money online are: owning a home business, completing surveys, freelancing, and reading emails. Providing mothers with good ways to make an income online, these opportunities put money into moms' pockets.

Owning an online business can be difficult, but if a person is dedicated it can be very beneficial. Some of the businesses require a fee to provide you with a product to sell. Others, such as Cognigen, will provide products and a website for free.

Completing surveys gives mothers total freedom. Because surveys are taken only when one agrees to take them, they are perfect for moms whose children need constant care. The amount of money earned from surveys depends on how many surveys a person is willing to answer. A mom can earn from $25 to $600 a month from answering surveys. Obtaining the higher income level might require signing up with more than one survey service.

Freelancing is a broad way to make money online. Freelancers are hired on with a company as a contractor. In many cases freelancing allows one to earn money for what he or she loves. While some of the more technical skills might face some competition from outsourcing, good quality writing will always benefit from homegrown knowledge of a language and its subtleties and colloquial usage.

The popularity of reading emails is rising higher each day. While this is not a great way to earn large amounts of money, it is an excellent way to earn a few extra dollars. Reading emails is a fairly easy way for stay at home moms to earn money. Emails are sent to the email address that is set up with the program. Climbing to the Top of the Search Engines

Getting your website and business listed on search engine results is a good way to help promote yourself and your business, but getting to the top of the search engines is where you want to be. After all, people are not going to keep clicking until they find your site on the thirty-eighth page. People do not even know they are looking for your site. It is your job to put it out there so it is easy for them to find, and one way you can do this is by getting to the top of the search engines.

Before you submit your website to a search engine you want to first make sure that your site is rich in content and that you are avoiding all spam and html tricks. Then, once you are listed, keep these points in mind:

-the higher your number of inbound links, the better
-pay loving attention to each page of your site
-keeping keywords at the top of your page is the best place; matching search phrases is more effective than matching single words
-elaborate graphics are not helpful

Once you have been successful in getting to the top of the search engines, you must keep working to keep yourself there. It is important to monitor your status on a regular basis, and to pick up the pace if your position on search engine result pages starts to slip.

Selecting A Home Based Business Opportunity

Working from home is becoming a more and more popular idea. With many people suddenly finding themselves unemployed because of changes in their work place, many of these are also looking seriously at the idea of working from home. Below are five ideas to consider when choosing a home based business opportunity.

Write Down Some Ideas

Here is where you can do some creative brainstorming. Make three separate lists. First, write down everything you ever imagined you might want to do, from home, as your own business. Next list everything in which you have both interests and talent. Make a third list of the talents that you have that others might find valuable or for which others might have a need. This last list is intended to help you decide which of your talents are realistically marketable.

Do Some Research

After you have those lists, look up various sites on the Internet that deal with home based businesses. Some of these sites will give you lists of many ideas. Starting with the list that you already made, either get more ideas to add to it, or refine some of your ideas into more specific categories. For example, suppose that you have a desire to write. You will find a number of ideas for writers that are home based. You might find resume writer, copywriter, content writer for web articles, and maybe copyediting. You might add in some similar things that you will also see, like website design, or virtual assistant.

Select One Or Two Possibilities

From this list you should now be able to reduce your ideas to one or two that stand out and spark your interests. Do a little more research to get some ideas about what it will take to get started in that type of business, and to find out how much you might expect to make realistically from that kind of business.

Determine Your Budget

This will help you to see whether or not you should pursue that kind of business, and will also clarify the limitations of your budget. Some money should be kept aside in the event that things do not go as expected. Plainly speaking, not every launch of a home based business is a success.

Get Ready To "Open The Doors"

Once your business is selected, and you know what is needed, then the preparation begins. Of course you want to do it right, so, with your budget in mind, start getting ready to open those doors for business. You can consult prior entries in these blog pages for further ideas about setting up a website and how to advertise.

Building Residual Income

Residual income is a type of income that is lasting, and the internet is a good platform for setting up business options that can provide residual income. You can target costumers from almost anywhere in the world, and different payment options exist online now.

Here are some ideas you can use to generate a site that has the potential for providing you with residual income.

1. Create ebooks. Your profit margin is larger if you publish ebooks yourself, but there are some advantages to letting publishers market your book. Publishers know a lot of sites where they can market your ebooks because they have more experience, and ifyou are a beginner they can provide advice and support. Generally speaking, ebooks are easy to download. You only have to create one and anyone can download it even when you are not there as long as they pay for it or as long as they are subscribed. Of course there are certain rules that you have to follow like getting an ISBN number for your book.

2. Create downloadable learning tools. If you are an expert on a subject and you would like to use your expertise to educate people then creating downloadable tools is just perfect for you. You can make a class wherein people learn through listening to your voice and you can charge them for it. If customers like you, they will keep coming back.

3. Create a blog that is supported by paid advertisements. The most famous example of an online advertisement program is Google Adsense. It is very easy to start an account. It is available worldwide. They pay for every click on the advertisements on your blog pages. Payments vary according to the type of advertisements. There are certain keywords that can attract advertisers to bid for a place in your blog. Just always remember NOT to click on your own ads because it is a violation of the rules. If (or rather when) Google learns about it the Adsense team will automatically terminate your account.

4. Participate in affiliate programs. Create a site that will help you campaign for your affiliates. Visitors can click through different affiliate links, some of which do not require membership fees. An example of a residual income program that is free to start is SFI.

5. Make an online magazine. You can get people to subscribe, participate in the forums and submit articles for you. You can publish it monthly, quarterly, or at whatever interval you like.
